SkinVue 6 Patch for Vue 7

Dave Burdick had released a zip file containing a patch to allow SkinVue6 to run on Vue7. There are some issues which will not work properly in Vue7 when running SkinVue6:

  • The atmosphere files will produce very oversaturated lighting
  • The scene file atmospheres will produce very overstaturated lighting

SkinVue 7 will be available shortly which has been optimized to run in Vue 7. To learn more about the features of SkinVue7, please visit http://www.SkinVue.net

SkinVue 64-bit Platform Support

From Dave Burdick:

A couple of quick updates on the subject of 64-bit platform support for SkinVue.

For current SkinVue 6 PC users, you can download a multi-platform wxPython installer here in order to install either the 32-bit or 64-bit version of wxPython into your main Vue application folder:

http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?zzitjgoormh

This will allow you to run SkinVue6 on 64-bit PC platforms.

For the upcoming SkinVue7, 64-bit support is already built in to the product so there is no need to download the additional wxPython library.

Incredibly Lush Autumn Shrubs

I've just picked up Incredibly Lush Autumn Shrubs for Vue, Linda Daireaux's latest plant pack at Cornucopia 3D. This pack is small but perfectly formed including four colourful plants: Viburnum, Puncia Granatum, Nadina Domestica and two different varieties of Ozakazuki Japanese Maple. While the pack is an add-on for the updated Incredibly Lush Garden Bushes it can be used without owning the Garden Bushes pack. Another great addition to Vue created by Linda Daireaux and its on sale for only $2.99 at the moment too!

Linda's new Lush Garden Bushes

The new Lush Garden Bushes pack isn't simply a rework of the original pack. Instead it has five entirely new plant species including three Japanese Maples (Orange Dream, Trompenburg and Dissectum), a Cornus Alba (Tartarian Dogwood), and a Lingustrum Japonicum (Japanese Privet).

The new solid growth bushes are added to the six solid growth garden bush species included in the original pack. These are a vast improvement over the originals because the all the textures are brand new and ultra high resolution so you can use the plants in close up renders as well as in the foreground or distance.

Generously Linda is giving the new pack away to everyone who bought the older pack. If you bought the original you can get the new pack by downloading it from your Cornucopia 3D account.

GridModeler Out Now

Chipp had launched GridModeler, his hand new Vue tool, for creating textures that turn primitives into complex objects such as fences, cabinets, architectural features and structures. It comes with an extensive manual and some helpful textures to get you started quickly.

Modelling complex trusses and lighting rigs can be time consuming process. Using GridModeler I've been knocking out great looking results in a fraction of the time and it can do so much more than that."
